Grant Oberle Wins Povey Award

SLHS undergrad Grant Oberle was the recipient of this year’s Edna L. Povey scholarship. Edna Povey was for many years the departmental secretary, serving under several department chairs (most notably G. Paul Moore, in whose honor our undergraduate students have run our annual Symposium). The scholarship program was established by Mrs. Povey’s husband in her memory to recognize the most outstanding undergraduate student in our program. Mr. Oberle’s research is examining the role of auditory feedback control on speech production, using electromagnetic articulography.  His thesis research is supported by the UF University Scholars Program.  The preliminary findings were recently presented at the UF Undergraduate Research Symposium.

Congrats, Grant!  Go Greater, Gators!
